Kettler Stroker Rowing Machine Review
Stroker is a magnetic resistance indoor rowing machine. It has a 4kg flywheel and provides users with eight stages of manual resistance. To change resistance level, use the knob that is under the rower handle.
Kettler Stroker comes with fantastic LCD tracking monitor. It will show you:
- Time elapsed during current workout
- Distance covered during ongoing exercise
- Oar strokes
- Energy consumption
- Calories burnt
- Pulse (you need an optional ear clip that is not included with this machine)
The keypad on the tracking monitor is water resistance, so you can cycle through your stats during an intense workout even when you are sweating a lot! The chest strap to keep track of your heart rate will be included with the machine.
This rowing machine is equipped with pivoting footplates, contoured seat and single handle for rowing. It makes it very comfortable to use this rower for intense workouts as well as allows rowing stroke to be soft and smooth.
One of the main features of this machine is that it can fold in half and also has transport wheels. The rowing rail folds up toward the flywheel. Space-saving algorithm is simple – fold it in half, move it to a corner/under the bed/other desirable space.
It may be useful to have a second pair of hands when you are assembling a rower and also moving it around because this rower weighs 40kg.
Nevermind its weight; rower assembly is very straightforward and easy thanks to clear instructions that come with the machine. You can quickly assemble rower on your own, but you may need some help with moving around the box and rower itself. If you got nobody else to help you, start assembling rower in the space you are planning on using it in.
One of the downsides is that it doesn’t come with an ear pulse sensor. You may be disappointed that a manufacturer that sells a machine that costs £529 (on the time of writing this review) would save on a £20 worth of pulse sensor.
Another con against this machine is that it’s tracking monitor not backlit. You may be working out during an evening or in a poorly lit room, and you may find it very annoying and confusing to read stats at that time.

What customers say about Kettler Stroker Rowing Machine
Bough this rower in April 2015. Used it every day since it arrived. Very impressed with it. It is still going on without any problems whatsoever!
A bit disappointed that you need to get a heart rate monitor strap as an additional item. And I had to fiddle about with it at first as it wasn’t picking up anything.
The assembly was very easy, and the machine is very quite. Using it every day for past 6 months, still no issues apart from screen being a bit hard to read in the dark. If you are big and tall – buy this machine!
This is high quality machine that was built to last for ages. Very comfortable when working out. I can also do a full rowing stroke and I am a 6ft3 gentleman. Very satisfied with this machine.
Aside from minor cons to this machine, it is a well designed indoor rower, and it will do what it says on the box. It will provide a fantastic workout to users of every level – from beginner to intermediate. Unfortunately for advanced users, this machine may not offer enough challenge due to the lack of harder resistance.
But this is still an amazing pick for rowing enthusiasts who would like to train at home and improve their cardio or lose weight. This machine is long enough for all users and can support heavy users as well. One of our top picks.
