Bodymax Oxbridge HR Rowing Machine Review
Oxbridge HR may not be perfect machine in every way possible, but it is sure a very affordable option that comes with plenty of features and will provide you with an amazing and comfortable rowing sessions right at home.
It is built from solid amazing high quality materials. The main part of the rowing machine – the rail, is built from a high class aluminium. Handles, foot rests and minor bits here and there are rubber and plastic. The aluminium rail is long enough to allow tall people perform full range of motion in comfort.
After buying this machine, expect it to be delivered right to your doorstep in a box. A box will contain all items necessary to assemble this rower fast and easy. Step by step instructions will be included as well. Usually it takes around 45 minutes to assemble the rower and start working out.
Bodymax Oxbridge HR has 8 different resistance levels that go from easy to hard. The resistance comes from air. So expect this machine to produce some noise while working out, but it won’t be anything loud for sure.
The foot rests are specifically designed to fit wide and long feet, as well as the straps will keep your feet perfectly in one place during your workout. The seat has been ergonomically designed to provide you maximum comfort during challenging rowing sessions.
Right before you start rowing you should put batteries in your tracking monitor and start your workout. Handlebars are positioned under the LCD tracking monitor. The rowing stroke feels very smooth and quiet apart from a bit of air that is coming out of the rower. With air resistance rowing machines you can’t avoid this.
This machine is paired with a good tracking monitor that will come in very handy during a workout. LCD display on this computer will provide you with vital workout information you need:
- Calories Burned
- Hear rate
Please keep in mind that hear rate is calculated using a chest strap that is optional when you buy this machine.
Below handle bar you will find a resistance control. It has been very conveniently placed there so you won’t have to interrupt your workout in order to change the resistance.
After you have finished working out, you can simply fold this machine in half and put it away in storage room or under the bed. To make it easier to move this machine around, Bodymax has put transport wheels to the front of this rower.
In general this machine has been designed to accommodate beginners and intermediate users. It is very sturdy built, it is fairly light and easy to transport. But it lacks a challenge for an advanced user.
It would be a great piece of equipment for your daily stamina/cardio workout if you planning to tone up your body and lose some weight. This machine is promising that you will get healthy in the comfort of your own home.
We were a bit disappointed that this machines screen requires so much energy. You would have to change batteries a bit more often with this machine than others if you planning to workout regularly.

What customers say about Bodymax Oxbridge HR
Oxbridge HR is quite strong and sturdy item. It arrived quickly and was very easy to assemble it. The rowing machine on the higher levels doesn’t feel very intense though.
This machine is an amazing all-round work out! It is perfect exercise machine in winter time when it’s too cold outside and too wet. Also very pleased with folding features – very easy to put it away in a storage room.
Good machine with plenty of levels to choose from for a beginner like me. One negative though – the batteries. I had to get new batteries to replace the ones that come in a box.
Quite big machine. I am 6’2″ and I can perform a full rowing stroke motion. It also goes very smooth. The screen is hard to read though because it is not back lit.
Great rower for beginners and advanced users. It maybe isn’t a professional rower, but it will sure let you have your dose of rowing at home and for a fracture of a price of a high end rowing machines.
